Marketing & Client Specialist

Role Description:

Reporting to the Manager, Client Engagement, the Marketing & Client Specialist has accountability for the execution of client strategies, business-to-business marketing plans, and media management. The Marketing & Client specialist is engaged in building the Offsetters brand using forward thinking and sustainable marketing practices that drive client engagement and revenue growth.
Responsibilities will include: contributing to the development of the annual Marketing and Client Engagement team plan, providing appropriate client support, as well as executing key marketing communication strategies and tactics. These will include sponsorships, events, public relations and digital media strategies designed to build brand awareness and increase trial and usage. You will implement programs and practices to ensure a consistent brand and communication strategy throughout the organization.
Responsibilities could include but are not limited to:
Overall support for business objectives
  • Develops, executes and maintains ongoing relationships with appropriate clients
  • Supports the development, execution and measurement of the results of innovative marketing communications initiatives including paid media, social media, earned media and digital media
  • Supports the Manager, Marketing in the continuous evolution of the Offsetters brand and ensures that all marketing initiatives reflect the brand, Offsetters’ values, and a consistent customer experience, building brand equity and value creation
  • Executes on the annual marketing plan and budget and then reports and revises plan and budget on a monthly basis
  • Conducts competitive analysis, monitors relevant publications and reports out on key trends and gaps in the marketplace
  • Collaborates with the Manager, Marketing in the development and execution of take-to-market strategies for charismatic offset projects, sponsorships, trade shows, and other events
Owned media
  • Manages Offsetters’ web channel, tracks web sales and is Web Master utilizing our content management system
  • Works with agency partners to ensure that website is fully functional, and optimized for sales growth
  • Develops, executes and analyses Offsetters’ monthly newsletter ensuring resonance and relevance
  • Tweets, blogs and optimizes use of social media
  • Evaluates and provides recommendations on paid media opportunities to Manager, Marketing
  • Optimizes online relevance and presence through effective search engine optimization and Google AdWords
Earned media
  • Works closely with Media Relations team and CEO in timely media response strategies, including writing copy, editing, and crafting key messages and Q&As
  • Publishes a public relations and marketing calendar of major events and opportunities to promote our products
  • Tracks earned media and Offsetters mentions
  • Supports the Manager, Marketing in the creation of press releases

Partner Media & Project Support
  • Works closely with Manager, Client Engagement and partner companies to develop and execute upon co-operative marketing campaigns
  • Manages Offsetters’ logo requests and subsequent usage by clients and partners 
  • Creates and collaborates with team members on collateral, presentations, newsletters, online content, and other materials that clearly support Offsetters’ objectives
  • Collaborates with Advisory Services team to deliver high-quality reports and presentations for top tier clients
  • Supports Manager, Client Engagement and Advisory Services team with research and industry/competitor insight for top tier clients
Minimum qualifications
  • University degree in Commerce, Marketing or Business Administration
  • Experience in managing client needs
  • Track record of success developing, managing and measuring integrated campaigns of all disciplines and channels
  • Thrives in a dynamic, high growth, entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated experience building strong relationships with people at all levels of an organization and ability to change communication style to fit audience
  • Hands-on experience in web based marketing and e-commerce
  • Ability to both see the big picture and execute the details
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Understanding of environmental sciences an asset
