Natural Resource Climate Change Project Manager – Terra Global Capital


Terra Global Capital, the leader in forest and land-use carbon analytics, advisory and finance, is accepting applications for a Natural Resource Climate Change Project Manager. This position will report to the Director of the NRM Project Development team and support the identification, development and delivery of land-use carbon projects and consulting opportunities. The preferred candidate has a minimum of 5 years experience in environmental consulting and experience in natural resource management and is a self-starter with proven ability to work in a team setting and manage work plans, budgets and deliverables due dates. 
  • Support carbon development process for international forest and land-use carbon projects and jurisdictional programs, including: 
    • Managing local implementing partners (clients) and provide support for all project and program activities;
    • Development of work plans, budgets and financial projections;
    • Assessment of regulatory, legal and land tenure frameworks;
    • Market standards eligibility and risk assessments;
    • Development of carbon and other legal agreements;
    • Contribute to creation and review of carbon feasibility studies, Project Documents and monitoring reports;
    • Management of validation and verification processes.
  • Contribute to business development through production of proposals and budgets in response to grant and RFP opportunities, including background research and creation of content
  • Interact with Finance and Investment team to support carbon marketing and transactions
  • Development of tracking and reporting tools for NRM Project Development and Finance and Investment teams using Salesforce and Projector MIS
  • Minimally 5 years of professional experience in environmental consulting or finance
  • Minimally 2 years of experience in climate change mitigation in the forest and land-use sector and carbon markets
  • At least a Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in environmental science, natural resource management, or another relevant field
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills
  • Professional speaking and writing skills in Spanish
  • Exceptionally computer literate, including complete mastering of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and project budgeting
  • Experience working in an international environment, specifically in developing countries
  • Organized, market focused and results-oriented
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment while self-managing deliverables
  • Understanding of cultural sensitivities associated with working in an international setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of REDD or other land-use carbon projects
  • In-depth knowledge of carbon market standards, guidelines and protocols 
  • Demonstrated experience in the production of reports, proposals, etc.
  • Understanding of established and emerging transactional and investment structures for carbon finance
  • Field-level project implementation experience in a developing country
