World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the global conservation organization, seeks a Program Officer to join its climate change team in order to assist in the development and advocacy of strong US action climate change. The incumbent will contribute to the development of policies and strategies aimed at changing the way the US produces and uses energy, including actions to drive greater demand and deployment of renewable energy. The incumbent will also support the Managing Director, Climate Change in internal and external communications and overall planning and management of the program.
A Bachelors degree or equivalent experiences is required. An advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in climate change, energy, environmental policy, economics or other related field is required. Experience in renewable energy policies and deployment at the state, regional and national level would be helpful. Additional skills should include: strong communications skills (oral and written); experience in relationship and consensus building; a proven ability to develop policy and work with decision makers to achieve results; and a high degree of initiative and flexibility to accommodate deadlines and changing priorities.
