Project Manager, Carbon Offsets, Offsetter, Vancouver British Columbia

Responsibilities      

  •     Communicate with external project partners to develop a detailed understanding of the technical elements of offset projects
  •     Efficiently gather and organize project information to asses project viability
  •     Conduct technical analyses and evaluations relating to a variety of contexts including renewable energy and energy efficiency
  •     Write, edit, and manage project documentation (PDDs, verification reports, PINs)
  •     Monitor project activities and action tasks when necessary
  •     Identify, screen and evaluate new project opportunities
  •     Generate business through new and previously established contacts and networks and bring new viable projects to Offsetters existing portfolio
  •     Manage all aspects of Carbon offset projects from concept to completion

Requirements    

  •     University degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent work experience
  •     Additional certification or training related to the carbon offset industry is an asset
  •     Team player with strong communication skills with a capacity to develop new business in a variety of settings
  •     Strong working knowledge of carbon accounting
  •     Previous work experience in the development of carbon offset projects
  •     Analytical and technically oriented and able to commit to and enjoy thorough and detailed analysis of carbon accounting and carbon methodologies
  •     A solid understanding of a carbon project life cycle with understanding of both the BCEOR and VCS
  •     A strong background of successfully developing new business and starting new commercial relationships
  •     Excel skills and the ability to model advanced concepts including statistics
  •     Familiarity with carbon auditing processes, GHG reporting regulations, the Alberta Offset System, QA QC procedures and Data Management would be considered an asset
  •     Established connections with project proponents in AB and BC
  •     Ability to “work a room”; a strong networker and relationship developer
  •     Ability to pragmatically identify and differentiate winning project opportunities at an early stage
  •     A self-starter that enjoys and excels at bringing new business concepts to the table
