Strategy Manager – the Carbon Trust

 Main duties and responsibilities

  • Lead problem solving effort on assigned projects
  • Manage discrete projects including developing scopes of work, leading procurement processes, co-ordinating pilots and managing contractors and/or internal teams
  • Ensure effective coordination, communication and dissemination of project plans and project end products
  • Help to shape and develop the overall strategy of the Carbon Trust
  • Deliver and support internal improvement projects
  • Develop and deliver policy and market insights for internal use and external audiences
  • Inform and influence Government policy on low carbon issues
  • Feed into business development in terms of ideas generation and evaluation
  • Be an active member of strategy & markets and technology teams, through engaging in problem solving/supporting projects across the company

  • Qualifications and experience (required/desired):
  • Required project management experience, including exposure to senior management, at either strategic management consultancy or in a corporate strategy/line management role at a blue chip corporate
  • Degree educated (at least 2:1 or equivalent) in a science/engineering/numerate discipline
  • Post graduate business or science /engineering qualification desired
  • Experience of energy efficiency and low carbon technologies an advantage but not a requirement
